Two days in Val d’Orcia among perched villages, medieval villages, and the vineyards of Montepulciano and Brunello di montalcino
Two days by bike in Val d'Orcia to discover the colors, villages and flavors of Tuscany on the white roads of the Eroica, and the paths of the Via Francigena, we will visit perched villages and medieval villages, and in order not to miss anything, we will cross the vineyards of Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino. An extraordinary holiday immersed in greenery and nature, tasting food and wine products and local wines.

First Day

Second Day
Dopo colazione, partenza per la prima tappa. Circa 62 km con circa 800 m di dislivello, pedaleremo lungo le strade bianche dell’Eroica. Da San Quirico d’Orcia visiteremo borghi arroccati e paesi medioevali come la meravigliosa Pienza e Montepulciano, circondata da vigneti, è conosciuta per il suo vino rosso Nobile, degusteremo prodotti tipici e vini prodotti nelle loro terre.

One of our favorite cycle excursions: about 35 km with about 850m of altitude difference, the tour of the vineyards of Brunello. A path almost entirely on dirt roads, between continuous ups and downs, immersed in nature, we will first reach the spectacular abbey of Sant’Antimo and then go up towards Montalcino crossing the most famous farms that produce Brunello di Montalcino. For the return to San Quirico d’Orcia we will follow the pleasant cycling route of the "Eroica".

For the partcipants
The slightly demanding tour is aimed at moderately trained cyclists, along the routes there will be a continuous ups and downs along many unpaved roads, but surrounded by vineyards, villages and medieval villages. As in every “I Rent Bike” tour we will be constantly followed by the minibus that will be able to give support, or simply assistance, to anyone who needs it.

Which bike to tackle the route with.
​
The route develops mostly on dirt roads, not asphalted but beaten. We definitely recommend the use of a front mountain bike, or alternatively a good hybrid or trekking bike, for those who do not feel so trained, the choice to participate with an E-MTB is perfect.
